Having already become F1's youngest Grand Prix winner in Hungary 2003, aged just 22, and earlier that year becoming the youngest ever pole-sitter, Fernando Alonso's 2005 season was so mature and consistant that, after a magnificent start to the season, he was more than able to withstand the enormous pressure of Kimi Raikkonen's assault during the latter part of the year. His third-placed finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix was sufficient for him, at just 24 years of age, to become the youngest ever F1 World Champion.
